Route: Batumi / Kutaisi - Martvili - Batumi / Kutaisi Duration: for Batumi approximately 11-12 hours for Kutaisi 6-7 including commuting time. Hours of meetings for people coming from Kutaisi will be different and location as well!.

Trip plan

10:30 - 11:00 We meet at the old city of Batumi, on the street Parnavaza MEPE 22 - next to Piazza.

12:00 Arrival in Martvili.

12:30-13:00 Our tour begins with a visit to the historic monastery Chkondidi - the main temple of Samegrelo. The name comes from the monastery Mingrelian "Chkoniya-didi", which means "a large oak tree." According to legend, while traveling missionary Saint Andrew in western Georgia, grew here big oak, who was beheaded and they built the first wooden church, which was named Martvili sachkondido.
